Museum Kulenovic Collection, located in Karlskrona, Sweden, contains artworks – sculptures, artifacts, paintings and
drawings – spanning over 5000 years of world cultures; paintings and drawings cover the period from the 15th century
up to the 1940’s.
 


 

The custodian of the museum, Rizah Kulenovic, is the Head of the Kulenovic Family – originating from the 12th century Bosnia / Croatia / Republic of Venice.
Art has been the great passion of the Kulenovic family for hundreds of years, as shown in historical records.
 

The museum, inaugurated on the 6th of June 2009, is situated in a Swedish cultural heritage site, the Water Castle – Vattenborgen - built in 1863 to supply water to the Royal Swedish Navy in Karlskrona. Karlskrona, established in 1680 in the southeast of Sweden,
is surrounded by its archipelago of 1650 islands and inlets. With its historic naval installations, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
