Adam Pynacker (1622 - 1673) was a Dutch Baroque
Era painter who specialized in landscapes. In both style
and subject-matter, Pynacker belongs to the group of
Netherlandish artists known as the
DUTCH ITALIANATES. His earliest paintings,
for example Buildings from the Ripa Grande, Rome
(Cambridge, Fitzwilliam), show a first-hand
knowledge of the Italian terrain, the subject of almost
his entire output. |
